Richmond Town Hall - Adjustment in Business Operation

Like several other towns, In light of the Coronavirus issue, the Richmond Town Hall will be locked beginning on Monday, March 16, 2020.  Employees will be working inside.  If you come to conduct business, you will be asked to call the respective department you are attempting to visit.  Your need will be vetted to determine if it is necessary and immediate.

Hearings previously scheduled with Vision Appraisal will be conducted via phone.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, but we are most concerned with the health and welfare of our employees.  Thank you for your understanding.

Building Department:


All permits, construction plans, and inspections can be submitted and requested on ViewPoint, or by phone. See website for details.  Payment can be made online or mailed in.

Zoning Department:

All zoning determinations, certificates and other zoning documents are on the Town’s website  Completed documents can be mailed in.

Planning Department: Please email or call 539-2285 with questions.   

Tax Assessor’s Office:  

Exemption forms are available on the town website at

Applications for exemptions can be mailed, along with copies of supporting income documents.
