The planning department coordinates all municipal functions and responsibilities related to land use planning. The planning department carries out planning functions and responsibilities related to land use, environmental protection, and economic development as required by local and state laws. The department also provides assistance to the town council, planning board, conservation commission, zoning board of review, economic development commission, affordable housing commission, land trust; departments of public work, building, and zoning; and any other municipal agency or official requiring assistance.
