The Town of Richmond, RI has hired Vision Government Solutions Inc to complete its state-mandated statistical revaluation program. The reassessment project will establish market value as of December 31st, 2022 and will be reflected in the tax bills issued in the summer of 2023. The data collection phase of the project will commence in the fall of 2022 as data collectors visit all properties that have open building permits and any properties that are new sales since July 1, 2020 to record exterior measurements and conduct interior inspections. Data collectors will carry a letter of identification from the Assessor’s Office, a photo ID badge and have their cars registered with the Police Department. All property owners and tenants are respectfully requested to cooperate with data collectors to insure that accurate information is used in the revaluation process. Valuation work will continue throughout the year with notices of the new valuations being mailed to property owners in March of 2023. Residents will have the option of meeting with Vision staff in Richmond to review the new, proposed assessments. Values will then be finalized and appear on the 2023 tax roll.
Look for further updates as the revaluation process continues throughout the coming year.
